Criteria & Screening Process For Pre-trained & Pre-certified Applicants

Our Criteria

The Global Alliance of Professional Leadership Development (GAPLD) offers an ACCELERATED CERTIFICATION PROGRAM as a s special category of entry into our Profession for all those applicants that have previously been exposed to some overlapping concepts of “professionalism” and received other certifications and training from other (somewhat) related and selective vocational programs. 

If you have already had pre-certification from this list of other Affiliate Organizations, you can accelerate your status as a Professional Certified in Leadership Development:

  • PBCA Canada
  • PBCA USA and Global
  • The International Coaching Federation ICF) and any of its approved Trainers
  • The Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) in Canada and other like organizations in USA and Global
  • Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) – USA and Global
  • Certified International Trade Professionals (CITP)
  • Certified Communications Management Professionals (CMP) and Certified Strategic Communication Management Professionals (CSMP)
  • Certified Professionals in Talent Development (CPTD)
  • Certified Management Consultants (CMC)
  • Certified Project Management Professionals (C PMP)
  • Certified Speaking Professionals (CSP)
  • MA, MSc., MBA, and PhD. Degrees in Leadership from any recognized Academic Institutions

A Personal Background In Leadership Is Another Essential Pre-requisite

The Global Alliance for Professional Leadership Development also believes that an ability to build executive leaders – either as a consultant or by running in-house programs – requires more than just a background knowledge of “Leadership Studies”. To properly build executive leaders, we strongly believe that every developer should have matured through their own leadership journey in the trenches and met their own leadership challenges “in the real world”.  YOUR OWN PERSONAL BACKGROUND IN LEADERSHIP IS ANOTHER ESSENTIAL PRE-REQUISITE In all cases, applicants for the ACCELERATED PROGRAM MUST also demonstrate the following, a MINIMUM level of “real world” Leadership experience as a prerequisite for training by GAPLD:
  • A Minimum 10-Years of progressive Leadership/Managerial Experience in either the larger Corporate, Public, Non-Profit, Institutional (Municipal, University, School, Health), First Nations/Tribal, or SME/Private Sectors; AND/OR
  • A Minimum 5-Years’ Experience as owner/operator of an incorporated business, preferably with more than 10 employees.

As a first step, GAPLD requires potential candidates to submit a personal Biography and Letter of Application explaining his/her background, leadership experiences, and proof of pre-qualifying credentials from other professional certifications or background university degrees with training in leadership studies.
