We want all our participants to take what they learned and immediately “hit the deck running” with the most practical tips, checklists, short readings, and other tools that are simple and straight to the point.
First and foremost, we believe that the development of Character, Core Virtues, and Values are foundational. This must precede all other forms of Leadership Development and capacity building. Conversations about the Character of a Leader are fundamental, and they must trump all other behavioral diagnostics or personality assessments.
After Character, comes Commitment. We put emphasis on the commitment of Turning Pro and stepping up to accept a Leadership Mindset. We even have a Self-Contract with a core list of clauses and conditions that we insist each Leader should sign as a sacred oath to themselves in entering Leadership as their Profession.
Beyond the development of Character and Commitment, GAPLD promotes a progressive, “inside-out” approach to the growth of leadership competencies as they become needed in ever-increasing demand and complexity, at every stage of a Leader’s career:
As a first step, GAPLD requires potential candidates to submit a personal Biography and Letter of Application explaining his/her background, leadership experiences, and proof of pre-qualifying credentials from other professional certifications or background university degrees with training in leadership studies.
