Leadership Is Its Own Profession

The Founder of GAPLD, Dale Botting, could not agree more! Dale was a seasoned CEO who spent a lifetime in leadership, as head of over seven widely different organizations across the business, government, and non-profit sectors. Over a 40 year career in the C-Suite, Dale would send dozens of his executives to various leadership classes and courses, but often discovered that the content fell far short of expectations, or was often incomplete or impractical.

As Dale simply said, “Individuals and organizations that invest in leadership education, training, and development should get what they paid for.”

THAT IS WHY HE CREATED THE GLOBAL ALLIANCE FOR PROFESSIONALS IN LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT (GAPLD).

If anyone is qualified to design Courses about Leadership Life in the Trenches, it would be Dale Botting. In a C-Suite career spanning over 40 years, Dale has been a Leader of over seven different organizations, varying widely from business advocacy to science-based enterprises, to international trade, to non-profit human services, to deputy minister in Government. He was known as “the turn around guy” and was frequently cited as one of the most influential leaders in his region in Canada.

In 2010 Dale established his own Business Coaching and Leadership Development firm, Botting Leadership Inc., which served literally hundreds of organizations and executives across North America – in Small Business, Industry, Indigenous, Non-Profit, and University communities. Along the way Dale was recognized by his peers as the Business Coach of the Year for all of Western North America in 2016 and was the first inductee into the Canadian Business Coaches Hall of Fame in 2022. His early career was launched through foundational degrees and numerous academic awards in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Geography, and Education. So, in addition to a passion for organizational leadership, Dale has held a lifelong passion for science and as a Naturalist and teacher.
